This year it was Luka against the world. Week after week came new charges: yelling at refs, fines for flopping, ejections for barking at fans, even smoking hookah mid-playoffs. To the sports world, Luka was always on trial.
So we made the trial real. For the launch of the Luka 4, Jordan Brand turned every headline and so-called crime into evidence. What others called misbehavior, we reframed as greatness. Because when Luka is bad man, basketball is better.
We launched The Trial of Luka Dončić like a blockbuster: trailers in cinema and social, movie posters as OOH, and a red-carpet premiere at LA’s Miracle Theater. Then, for the playoffs, we went bigger. Game 2 on TNT featured five national cuts, and in Los Angeles we bought a seven and a half minute slot on Spectrum TV to air the full film pre-game. An unprecedented media buy that turned Luka’s trial into must-watch TV.
